Chalk up a big win for Team Eric. Last night on “True Blood” Sookie (Anna Paquin) kissed Eric (Alexander Skarsgard). That’s right. Sookie initiated the kiss, and this time it was not a dream sequence. Sookie found herself charmed by the sweet, gentle AmnesiEric. Thanks to Marnie’s (Fiona Shaw) spell, the once ferocious sheriff has turned into a vampire so cute and cuddly that he’s just a few sparkles away from the Cullen zone. Also, he likes to wear basketball shorts.

At the beginning of the episode, Eric dreamed that Godric ordered him to drink from Sookie, telling him he is incapable of love. Sookie wakes up to find Eric watching her, with his fangs out. He tells her he had a bad dream, sounding like a little boy. After he asks her if he is evil, she ends up letting him sleep in her bed. Sookie tricks Marnie into giving her a reading, hilariously claiming that she used to watch “Sabrina: The Teenage Witch” and “Charmed.” First Marnie issues ominous warnings about the man in Sookie’s life, then she gets possessed by the spirit of Gran, who warns Sookie that Marnie is evil.

Eric resolves to leave Sookie’s house saying, “There’s a light in you. It’s beautiful. I couldn’t bear it if I snuffed it out.” This fan-fiction worthy line totally works on Sookie. She tells him not to go, and pulls him into a very steamy kiss. The hundreds of  thousands of Eric fans screamed even louder than they did at the show’s Comic-Con panel.

Those on Team Bill need not worry. The episode ended with Pam (Kristin Bauer), upset about Marnie’s spell that melted her face, telling King Bill (Stephen Moyer) that Eric is staying with Sookie. Based on the previews, Bill is jealous enough to kill him. Team Alcide (Joe Manganiello) fans, relax. The giant werewolf is in the preview, too.

In other Bon Temps happenings, Tommy (Marshall Allman) killed his parents. He and Sam (Sam Trammell) dumped their bodies in the lake and tossed in some bread to make sure the alligators would eat their corpses. No, really. Terry (Todd Lowe) and Arlene (Carrie Preston) hired a reverend to exorcise the evil from their house. It did not work. Jason (Ryan Kwanten) got over the trauma of being gang raped by a couple dozen werepanthers, then drinking Jessica’s blood to survive, by having erotic dreams about Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll). Tara’s (Rutina Wesley) girlfriend found out that she is a lying liar who lies. Jesus (Kevin Alejandro) and Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) set out on a road trip to visit Jesus’s shaman grandfather, who made him kill his pet goat when he was a little boy. It turns out that vampires infiltrated the Vatican hundreds of years ago, one of the numerous references to religion in the episode. There was even more swearing than usual.
