Toddlers & Tiaras” star Eden visited “The View” Monday to talk about her “career” and new song, now that she’s retired from pageants at the ripe old age of six.

Her mom Mickie handled questions from Barbara Walters about the appropriateness of dressing up her daughter and Elisabeth Hasselbeck got Eden to confess the worst part of pageantry is the hairspray. Whoopi just sat and watched the mini-spectacle, perhaps choosing to follow “If you don’t have something nice to say….”

Barbara tried to ask the little tot about her aspirations, but Eden was thin on details. “Well, I thought that we could just go and spend a little time and do my other things and like, um, doing my career,” she said.

When Barbara asked what that was, Eden elaborated: “Probably being a superstar.”

Mickie defended her daughter’s duds and dance routines – even Eden’s performance of “Cutie Patootie” included a reference to shaking her “bootie.”

Mickie denied ever giving Eden Red Bull or using teeth whitener, saying most of the time her daughter is just a normal girl in Arkansas, playing with her chickens.

Joy Behar was bothered by the emphasis on beauty in the pageants, but mom wasn’t.

“I say to each his own. Everybody has to do what they think is best for their particular situation, for their child, for their family. I don’t impose my thoughts on a lot of other things that parents do with their children, and I think that I’m due the same respect,” Mickie said.

A few sample lyrics from “Cutie Patootie”: “I’m a little southern girl, but no I’m not snooty” and “I’m loving the attention, but no I’m not needy.” The rap also referenced her Facebook page and thanked Shirley Temple for paving the way.

With that lingering in the air, Barbara closed the segment saying that Eden seems happy and her mother seems loving and they shouldn’t judge. Whoopi at least remembered to clap.
