The Queen of England is stepping in to replace a Rose. Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Oscar winner Helen Mirren will take over for Oscar nominee Bette Midler in the HBO Films movie “Phil Spector.” Just days after Midler had to leave the David Mamet-written and directed production because of a herniated disc, Mirren has agreed to play the part of Linda Kenney, the attorney who defended Spector in his first trial. She’ll work opposite Al Pacino, who is playing the controversial record producer who was charged with murder when a woman was found shot to death in his home in 2003. After a mistrial in 2007, he was convicted in 2009.
