James Spader already has the job as the new boss on “The Office,” and even though he didn’t need it to get the gig, he could have used the old boss as a reference. Access Hollywood.com is reporting that Steve Carell, the ex-honcho of Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch, is very pleased with his replacement.
“I think it’s an excellent choice,” Carell said Monday about Spader’s selection, which was announced a month ago. “I think it’s great and he will infuse all this new energy into the show. In talking to the cast, everyone’s very excited and I know it’ll be a good season.”
Spader won’t move into his new ‘Office’ until fall, but here’s a look at last season’s finale, which introduced his character — Robert California.
