Life is imitating art in a most delicious new way.
Now you can eat Cheesy Poofs too, just like your favorite “South Park” characters.
In celebration of the show’s upcoming 15th season, “South Park” is teaming up with Frito-Lay to produce a limited edition run of real-life “Cheesy Poofs” to be sold in Walmart stores.
The campaign, which starts next month, will include 1.5 million bags of the TV snack, selling for $2.99 a pop.
“It’s fair to say the viewers of programs on Comedy Central overlap well with consumers of our products,” said Chris Kuechenmeister, a spokesman at Frito-Lay in Plano, Tex., to the New York Times.
“This is the first time we’ve moved into something like this,” he added. “It seemed like a nice thing to try.”
New episodes of “South Park” will resume beginning Oct. 15 on Comedy Central.
