The NBC legal series “Harry’s Law” better start racking up plenty of billable hours next season because it’s going to have a lot more attorneys to pay. The David E. Kelley-produced drama, which stars Kathy Bates as a defense attorney who runs her practice out of a shoe store, has added several new cast members.
Mark Valley, of both “Fringe” fame and the recently departed “Human Target,” will be joining the firm as a hot-shot attorney. Moving in along with him as part of Bates’ legal team is Karen Olivo, best known for her work on the Broadway stage. On the opposite side, Jean Smart (late of “Hawaii Five-0”) will be appearing in a multiple-episode arc as a prosecutor who is trying to convict an accused killer, played by Alfred Molina. And all of this news comes after word earlier in the week that Christopher McDonald, who played the barely scrupulous attorney Tommy Jefferson in several episodes last season, has been bumped up to full-time cast member
