When producers of Spike TV’s “Repo Games” set out to shoot tonight’s new episodes, they never imagined there’d be actual shots fired.

“The way we always go out is to plan for the worst but hope for the best,” executive producer SallyAnn Salsano (“Jersey Shore“) told XfinityTV.com. “But that was one of those kinds of scenarios where it just escalated really fast out of nowhere.”

What Salsano described was an incident first reported in April. While filming in a North Las Vegas neighborhood, Carlos Enrique Barron, a neighbor who didn’t like how close the show’s production vans were parked to his residence, emerged from his home with a gun and opened fire on the crew. (Barron was later arrested and charged with attempted murder.)

“It was so random,” Salsano said. “But that’s the thing about this show – it could not be more real.”

Currently in its first season, “Games” follows repo men Josh Lewis and Tom DeTone as they offer debtors a last chance to win back their cars – provided they can correctly answer five trivia questions.

Fortunately no one was harmed during filming, but Salsano said cameras captured every moment of the terrifying events as they unfolded. “We were rolling tape on everything. I mean, the vehicle that was shot at and hit, the tapes were rolling inside that vehicle. And the people who were inside that vehicle when it got hit – we were rolling.”

Two new episodes of “Repo Games” air tonight at 11 pm and 11:30 pm on Spike. The shootout will be detailed in the second episode.
