America’s Got Talent” heads to Hollywood this week, and sure enough, a famous face pops up on the reality show.

Singer Avril Lavigne will help kick off the live shows, according to Entertainment Weekly, by performing on Wednesday’s episode.

Lavigne will perform live her songs “What the Hell” and “Smile” during the results show at 9 p.m./ET on NBC.

“Talent’s” first of the live episodes begin airing tonight and will showcase 12 of the top 48 acts — and eight of them will be eliminated from the competition on Wednesday night. Featured tonight will be: Anna Graceman, Dezmond Meeks, Duo Aero, Echo of Animal Gardens, Fearless Flores Family, J Chris Newberg, Miami All-Stars, Sandou Trio Russian Bar, Snap Boogie, Squonk Opera, The Fiddleheads and Those Funny Little People.

Meanwhile, talented funnyman and “AGT” judge Howie Mandel dropped by “The Tonight Show” Monday night and touted the new season, which has “talent out the wazoo” and is crushing the ratings competition. During the interview, Mandel discussed how viewers accuse him of letting the “crazies” through the audition rounds. True … some are crazy and some are crazy-good.
