‘Big Brother’ Premiere Tops Night’s Ratings

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap) – The 13th season premiere of “Big Brother” won the evening’s top ratings on Thursday and beat out its previous season premiere, according to preliminary viewership figures.

“Big Brother” on CBS at 9 p.m. received a 2.7 rating/8 share in the adults 18-to-49 viewer group, an eight percent climb over the season launch last July, and 7.7 million total viewers. The rest of CBS’s primetime roster consisted of repeats.

ABC won the evening’s second-best numbers with “Wipeout” at 8 p.m., which received a 2.0 rating/7 share in the viewer group, on par with last week, and 6.6 million total viewers. The recently launched adventure reality series “Expedition Impossible” the following hour was down 11 percent compared to last week, with a 1.5 rating/5 share among 18- to 49-year-olds and 5.5 million total viewers. “Rookie Blue” closed out the night for the network on a bright note, inching up seven percent compared to last week with a 1.5/4 and 5.6 million total viewers.

At Fox, “So You Think You Can Dance” at 8 p.m. was flat compared to last week, tying for fourth place with “Expedition Impossible” with a 1.6/6 in the demographic and 5.3 million total viewers. A repeat of “Glee” closed the network’s evening.

NBC ran repeats, with the exception of “Love Bites” at 10 p.m. which performed flat compared to last week’s series low.
