The family of little people who left the airwaves last December with so much uncertainty about the future of their household are coming back to television to set the record straight.

They’re the Roloffs, the beloved stars of “Little People, Big World” on TLC, which is where they’ll be seen again in a series of all-new specials, the first of which will likely be seen this October, TLC said Thursday. Production began this week.

Indeed, these new specials are designed to provide closure to the millions of Roloff fans who were dismayed by the way the series ended last Dec. 6 – with the marriage of little parents Matt and Amy hanging in the balance. “The first special will resolve the cliffhangers left from the series finale,” TLC promised, “including the state of Matt and Amy’s marriage, if the family sold the farm, and what’s become of the kids.”

Matt and Amy have four children – sons Jeremy, Jacob and Zach, and daughter Molly. Zach is a little person like his parents while the other children are of average height.

In the series finale last year, Matt and Amy were at each other’s throats, with Amy describing the state of their marriage as “rocky” and “iffy.” In addition, older boys and fraternal twins Jeremy and Zach were mulling a move away from home, while over-worked Matt considered selling the family’s pumpkin farm.

“The response from the fans since ‘Little People Big World’ finale has been overwhelming, asking how we’re doing and what’s the latest with the kids,” Matt and Amy said in a statement. “These specials are going to be a great opportunity to share our families’ updates with our fans from time to time through the year.”
