“Law & Order” fans have suffered a lot of blows lately. “Criminal Intent” recently aired its series finale; the “Los Angeles” spin-off got the axe; and beloved “SVU” star Christopher Meloni quit the show, while showrunner Neal Baer is being replaced.
But there are a few breaks in the case of “SVU,” which now stands alone as the only “Law & Order” show left in franchise.
ADAs Stephanie March and Diane Neal are both returning to “Law & Order: SVU” next season for an undetermined amount of episodes. March has played ADA Alexandra Cabot for seven seasons and Neal has played ADA Casey Novak for six seasons.
The crime drama added two new detectives to the force last week in Kelli Giddish (“Chase”) and Danny Pinto (“Cold Case”), but the addition of the new cops won’t take away from the show’s longtime leading lady.
Mariska Hargitay is fully on board next season – she’ll appear in all 22 episodes, contrary to earlier reports that she would have a reduced presence in Season 13.
