We love a good media feud but at eight days and counting, this Chris Wallace vs. Jon Stewart set-to is getting a little long in the tooth.

Wallace kept it going this past Sunday morning on his weekly current affairs show on Fox News Channel, “Fox News Sunday.” Maybe you can’t blame him — he hadn’t been on TV since Stewart accused FNC of selectively editing his appearance on Wallace’s show the previous Sunday.

Stewart, of course, gets to appear on TV for four consecutive weeknights (Monday-Thursday) on his Comedy Central “Daily Show,” where he commented on his visit last weekend to the Fox News Channel Washington bureau — and, in the process, leveled the selective-editing charge.

Stewart Taunts Fox News for Editing His Sunday Appearance

.
In his remarks on “The Daily Show” last Monday, Stewart recommended that viewers watch the unedited version of the interview that was posted in various places on the Web. Stewart basically said he came off better than he did in the edited version FNC aired on the Wallace show.

“I figured it would get some reaction, but not that it would light up the Internet,” Wallace said of the interview this past Sunday morning on his show, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which posted a detailed account of what Wallace had to say here.

Wallace was probably pretty tickled that his show got more attention than he’s accustomed to getting, following Stewart’s appearance. That’s one of the benefits of having Stewart on FNC in the first place – more publicity for Fox News Channel and its personalities.

On Fox News, Stewart Debates Media Bias with Chris Wallace

.
In the initial appearance eight days ago, Stewart and Wallace got into the subject of media bias, with each man accusing the other of tilting his coverage of the news either rightward or leftward. Stewart playfully called Wallace “insane” for accusing “The Daily Show” of bias since, Stewart argued, the show is a comedy show with no other agenda than to procure laughs. Stewart, of course, accused Fox News of slanting all of its reporting to the right.

He also said Fox News viewers are the most “consistently misinformed media viewers.” And it was that issue that Wallace addressed this past Sunday, citing various polls of TV news viewers that showed that wasn’t the case at all.

“So folks, all that talk about you’re the most consistently misinformed viewers? I guess the joke is on Jon Stewart!” Wallace said.
