There’s no doubt Ricky Gervais has a big career. It’s about to get smaller, however, thanks to HBO. Deadline Hollywood is reporting that the pay cable network has signed a deal to bring the ‘Office‘ creator’s next project — “Life’s Too Short” — to the U.S. The series will air all seven of its episodes in Britain later this year before “Short” becomes available on HBO in 2012. It stars actor Warwick Davis as slightly real/slightly not version of himself. The 3′ 6″ Davis, who has starred in films including “Willow” and “Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows,” will play a down-and-out actor who is eager to get himself back into the game again. According to Deadline Hollywood, the series will be shot like a documentary, a la “The Office” and feature celebrity cameos like another of Gervais’ previous shows, “Extras.” So far, Steve Carell, Johnny Depp and Sting are already on board.
