“Wipeout” may be a disaster for its contestants, but the ABC game show has made a winner out of Vanessa Minnillo. According to People.com, she has been hired as the reality series’ new co-host, replacing the departing Jill Wagner. Minnillo will join host the show’s two Johns, colorful color commentators Anderson and Henson, starting with the Season 5 “Winter Wipeout” edition.

“We will miss Jill, but are thrilled to welcome Vanessa to the team and excited to bring her enthusiasm to the show,” the show’s creator/executive producer Matt Kunitz told People. “She is a great host with a fun and natural energy that our viewers will love.”

Wagner announced her depature to pursue other opportunities earlier this spring. As for Minnillo, who is engaged to Nick Lachey, she started her career co-hosting MTV’s “Total Request Live.” Since then, she has served as an East Coast correspondent for “Entertainment Tonight” and appeared in episodes of “Hawaii Five-O” and “30 Rock.”
