Bethenny getting a talk show? It seems so, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Tireless reality TV star Bethenny Frankel, 40 – whose shows include the question-mark punctuated “Bethenny Getting Married?” for Bravo (she did – get married, that is) – is taping a prospective talk-show pilot, THR says. Ellen DeGeneres is playing a role as a producer on the project (though her involvement was not exactly sharply defined in the THR story).

The proposed show – billed in the story as “advice-based” – would come from the same syndicator as “Ellen” and “Tyra Banks,” the Warner Bros. syndication arm known as TelePictures.

There was no word on when a Bethenny talk show would be available to air. At this point in time, it’s probably not likely it could be launched this September, but it could turn up next winter or the following fall – if anyone buys it.

We happen to think a Bethenny Frankel talk show is a great idea. The brains behind the “Skinny Girl” brand (which she sold to a conglomerate for a reported $120 million) is not everyone’s cup of tea, but we think she has charisma a-plenty to pull this off. This talk show is just one of several that appear to be jockeying for position as daytime television undergoes a radical restructuring in the post-Oprah Winfrey era. Besides the fact that Oprah is gone from the scene, some of TV’s most historic soap operas – the traditional mainstays of daytime TV – are also preparing to shut down.

Bethenny’s been seen already in three Bravo shows – “Real Housewives of New York,” the aforementioned “Bethenny Getting Married?” and “Bethenny Ever After” (for which she just signed for a third season, THR said). She also competed on ABC’s “Skating with the Stars” (she made the finals and lost to Rebecca Budig).

Frankel said in a recent interview with THR that she’d like a talk show. “I want to be on TV in a format where I can have a longer conversation with my fans rather than 140 characters on Twitter,” she said. “It probably will be a talk show.”
