The Variety report claims that O’Neill’s salary started out at nearly $100,000 per episode, and is likely to go to $150,000. Meanwhile, the other actors were getting roughly between one-third or two-thirds of that for ‘Family’s’ first two seasons. Now, however, insiders are predicting that Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara will all end up somewhere near $100,000 themselves.
The ‘Modern Family’ cast is following in the lucrative footsteps of the actors from ‘Big Bang Theory,’ whose three leads got a reported bump to $200,000 for this past season. Meanwhile, the stars of another major hit – ‘Glee’ – are apparently looking to cash in on their success, with their contract negotiations beginning this summer.
Is the ‘Modern Family’ cast worth the cash? Considering the ratings and the critical success the show has garnered in two seasons on the air, that’d certainly seem to be the case. But check out this past season’s finale and decide for yourself.
