Former “Lostie” Mark Pellegrino (who played Island Master Jacob) is joining TNT’s “The Closer” in a recurring role for its final season, according to TV Guide.

Beginning in mid-August, Pellegrino will play a high-powered defense attorney named Gavin Baker — described as “brisk, gay and formidable. He is ruthless in court and still manages to project an air of friendly professionalism.”

So, who’s he defending? Well, none other than Brenda Lee Johnson (Kyra Sedgwick) herself.

Brenda becomes in need of the legal eagle’s help when she’s sued by a gang member’s family after they are placed in danger by the police.

In other casting news to get psyched about, William Shatner is heading to USA’s “Psych,” TV Guide also reports.

The 80-year-old Emmy winner will guest star as an estranged con man who also happens to be the father of Juliet (Maggie Lawson). Shatner will appear in an upcoming episode in which he tries to rebuild his relationship with his daughter — until, that is, the con of a lifetime threatens to complicate his “retirement” from the biz.
