On Monday’s “Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition,” trainer Chris Powell “loses it” when one of the show’s contestants is mocked by a stranger on the street.

Powell challenged next week’s subject, 45-year-old Dana, who weighs in at 498 pounds, to literally carry his addiction – 50 lbs. of ribs and punch – across a 1.5 mile long bridge in Nashville, Tennessee.

While Dana was struggling to compete the task, a bystander began shouting at him, mocking his efforts. Sadly, Dana says he’s had to deal with people teasing him over his size for decades.

But it’s Powell who can’t hold back and confronts the passerby, loudly.

“I normally would never do something like that,” Chris says in the episode after screaming back at the man. “I lost it, but you know, I will not stand for that.”

And his client was very grateful.

“That was one of the kindest things he’s done,” Dana said of Powell coming to his defense. “I never had anyone like him in my corner before.”

“Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition” airs Monday night on ABC.
