The rumors were true. Fox has tapped Jane Lynch to host the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmys.

“Jane was my first – and only – choice as the host for this year’s Primetime Emmys, and I am glad she said ‘yes,’” executive producer Mark Burnett said via press release. “She has incredible comedic timing, and is a charismatic, talented actress whose energy leaps off the screen and stage. I am thrilled and excited to have her as our host.”

“I am tickled pink to be hosting the Primetime Emmys on Fox,” Lynch said. “I’m looking forward to singing, dancing and sporting my finest tracksuit.”

This will mark the Emmy-winning “Glee” star’s first time as host, although she did appear in Jimmy Fallon’s opening performance last year.

Nominations will be announced Thursday, July 14 at 8:40 am ET/5:40 am PT. The awards will air Sunday, September 18 on Fox.
