Javier Colon is moving on.

The fan favorite — whose blind audition performance of “Time After Time” became an instant best seller on iTunes – gave challenger Angela Wolf everything she could handle in tonight’s second week of “Battle Rounds” on “The Voice.”

“There is an extremely beautiful girl on that stage right now, but all I can do is sit here and go, ‘Javier,’” coach Blake Shelton noted after their collaboration on “Stand By Me.”

“That makes me feel strange a little bit,” Javier joked, prompting the newlywed to reply: “Imagine how I feel!”

Despite his obvious singing chops, it’s been a rocky road to stardom for the father of two from Connecticut.  He’s already released three albums but was dropped last year by Capitol Records and has since been forced to self-release his music.

“Nobody wanted to talk to the guy who had a previous record deal that fell apart,” he told KNBC News Tuesday night, adding this time around he isn’t taking anything for granted.

“Every time you step up on to that stage you are singing for your life you could be going home and that is what is weighing heavy on your mind.”

Here’s how the rest of last night’s battles shaped up:

TEAM GREEN
Nakia vs. Tje Austin

The night’s first performance is also its only biggest upset.  Tje comes out a bit shaky as the men square off on Ne-Yo’s “Closer.”  That doesn’t go unnoticed by the coaches.   “I’m kinda blown away,” Christina says.  Adam’s comment:  “So much hair.”  All four coaches agree Nakia is the keeper.  He moves on.

TEAM SHELTON
Elenowen v. Jared Blake

It was two against one in the second battle – a rendition of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” — Cee-Lo loved them both.  So did Christina.  “Elenowen, you guys are an amazing thing to watch, but Jared, you were selling it,” she raved.  But the final decision went to Blake, who picked Jared to advance.

TEAM AGUILERA
Beverly McCellan against Justin Grennan

Poor Justin didn’t stand a chance against bald-headed, tattooed Beverly who belted out a version of The Who’s “Baba O’Riley” that would make Roger Daltrey proud.  “I thought they were sending the lamb to the slaughter,” Adam admitted. Christina thanked both singers for making her fellow coaches “insanely jealous” – but in the end she surprised no one by sending the only guy on her team packing.

The battle rounds continue next Tuesday.  America gets to vote when the live shows start June 7.
