If you watch Kendra Wilkinson’s debut performance on “Dancing with the Stars” Monday night, you might see a glazed over look, but a total blackout? That’s what the reality star claimed post show Monday night.
“Right after the performance I asked [Louis], ‘What did I do?’ ‘How did I do?’ ‘How was this part? Because I totally blacked out. I spaced out. It was the lighting,” she explained to XfinityTV.com. “The lighting makes me a little bit dizzy. And it’s a lot of pressure. There are a lot of people around and millions of people watching. I’m not used to it. Being in front of a camera and taking a poop in my bathroom is kind of different than this.”
Of course, she’s referring to her reality show “Kendra,” which features an intro segment featuring the former Playmate doing her infamous “booty-pop” dance to the “Go Kendra!” theme. And it’s that intro — along with her stripper moves and club dancing — that made Vegas odds makers pick her as the odds on favorite.
“It put a lot of pressure on me,” she said of the early hype. “Now they see. I mean, I was nervous, next week, uh, yeah…”
Her partner Louis van Amstel is quick to her defense: “Kendra is her worst critic. It was great. You know, quality comes over time especially if you’ve never danced a given routine. That dancing she does, that’s one move. That doesn’t mean you’re a dancer, no. But she is what ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is about; it’s about growth. And, this season is fun because there are no dancers.”
Even though Wilkinson and Amstel scored in the middle of the leader board with 18 points for this first week, Wilkinson was extremely disappointed.
“I’m not happy with the score, number one,” she told us. “I really want to do better. My goal is to win, of course, so 6, 6, 6 is not gonna win. But I feel like I did good. I did the best I could. There were times when I bent my knees, but I had to. I mean, if I would’ve locked my knees, I would’ve passed out.”
