As they say, the first cut is the deepest, and it sounds like the same is true for the first to be fired by Donald Trump on “Celebrity Apprentice,” which premieres this Sunday on NBC (9/8c).
“[It's] the toughest thing there is for me — that first person fired. You know, it’s one thing when you’re there for a few weeks, but boy firing that first person. They’re all celebrities and they’ve all done well in their own right. And letting that first person go is a very hard thing for me to do,” Trump said on a press conference call this week.
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta“‘s NeNe Leakes accidentally slipped that it’s not her going home first, when she told reporters, “I was hoping that I didn’t get fired the first person. I was thinking, Just make it from first. Don’t be fired first. That’s all I thought about. It’s the only thing I thought about going in is just don’t get fired first.”
“This was a rough one because it was sad. It was very sad. There was something very sad about it…I don’t know there was something about this firing that was to me a tough one to do…Oh it was brutal. It was brutal,” said Trump. Leakes couldn’t agree more: “Yes it was tough.”
