Is it possible for Glenn Beck to go even crazier than many of his critics believe the Fox News host actually is? MSNBC rival and seemingly professional Beck critic Lawrence O’Donnell certainly thinks so — on Tuesday’s show he drove home the point.

Lumping Beck in with the likes of Michele Bachmann and Rush Limbaugh, O’Donnell said the entire conservative media is “struggling to get attention by saying crazier and more offensive things every day.”

What drove O’Donnell to lambast his commentators from across the aisle appeared to be a segment from Beck’s program, during which the conservative host claimed the likes of Muslims, labor unions and Fidel Castro were the champions of “democracy,” while only he and his Fox News viewers were wanting the United States to exist as a “republic.”

“I know that sounded like quintessential Beck, but it is actually Beck gone even crazier than usual,” O’Donnell said. “I guess he could explain the budget if he could read the budget.”

It’s O’Donnell’s position that Beck has gone so crazy that his comrades in arm, specifically Limbaugh, “can’t get the attention that he’s used to unless he goes on the offensive” — a clip of Limbaugh’s rant towards Michelle Obama and her physique was played as evidence.
