Mark Burnett might have been a hot television commodity, thanks to his mega-hit franchise “Survivor,” but that track record didn’t translate into success on Oprah’s OWN network.

OWN executives had been eyeing a daytime talk show executive produced by Burnett, but they ultimately decided to kill the program, opting instead to focus on prime-time programming.

“We have to be really smart about what goes on our air and when,” OWN executive Christina Norman said.

That’s not to say Burnett is out of the Oprah game completely — the producer is already involved with the OWN program, “Your OWN Show,” but a daily talk show fashioned after “The View” isn’t in the cards.

But, Burnett is having a successful run on ABC, as his reality-series “Shark Tank” will return for a second season March 25.
