Gwyneth Paltrow gets funnier and funnier with every television appearance she makes. She made us LOL on “Glee” when she played a wacky substitute teacher and rocked Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You,” and she kicked things off on “Saturday Night Live” with a hilarious opening monologue that saw her feigning ignorance about country music.

In the monologue, Jason Sudeikis comes out as Kenny Rogers and puts Paltrow’s country knowledge (she stars in “Country Strong“) to the test by trying to get her to play Dolly Parton’s part in the duet “Islands in the Stream.” Gwynie hilariously messes up all the lyrics, calls Parton “boobs lady,” and Cee Lo Green comes out to help out with the song. Great start to a great show, which also included a hilarious spoof of Gwyneth as Taylor Swift, performing ‘Love Story’ at a Bar Mitzvah.

Paltrow aside, a true highlight of the show was Pee-wee Herman and Andy Samberg taking shots in a bar to the tune of “Shots” by LMFAO ft. Lil Jon. Anderson Cooper even shows up and gets a chair smashed over his head by Pee-wee screaming, “Here’s a headline,” at him. The two end up at their own intervention afterward.
