Anyone who’s been privy to the full seven-episode season of Matt LeBlanc’s new Showtime show, “Episodes,” already knows it doesn’t feature any of the actor’s former “Friends” stars. And, now so do you.

But, with the strong premiere debut Sunday, talk of a second season was in the air at the Showtime Television Critics Association panel Friday and if the show does get renewed, might we see Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, or David Schwimmer show up for the sophomore season? Or any “Joey” stars like Drea De Matteo?

“I don’t know,” responded LeBlanc before tossing the question in the producers’ direction. “Guys?”

“We haven’t even thought about the second season because it’s unlucky… But, I don’t know, would you want to see Drea again? ” joked Jeffrey Klarik, creator and executive producer of “Episodes.” “I would want to see Drea again, not for work,” responded LeBlanc, who for the most part didn’t jump to answer the real question at hand.

When asked if he sees his former friends, LeBlanc stated simply, “No. I mean, no, we don’t see each other that often. Once in a blue moon,” but didn’t answer the follow-up question of, “Why do you think that is?” In his defense, the audience was laughing so hard it made it impossible to answer over the noise.

With the uniquely orchestrated “Seinfeld” reunion on “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” some wondered if a similar reunion scenario for “Friends” could be in store for the hypothetical season-two of “Episodes.” But that idea was also shot down. “I think ‘Friends’ ended fine. I don’t think we would touch it,” said David Crane, co-creator and executive producer of “Episodes” and of “Friends.”

After the panel, LeBlanc was asked again about a “Friends” reunion and he said, “Um, do you mean with other characters coming in? I don’t know. I think probably not. I know. No one wants to let that go. It’s not up to me. Ask those two guys down there, they’re writing it.”
