Depending on where you come down on the whole fancy bangs thing, “Glee” may or may not have exciting news about plans for a Justin Bieber-themed episode.
TVline.com first reported Saturday that the Fox musical comedy had plans for a sweeps episode centered around the teen star’s songs.
This story was quickly “liked” like crazy on Facebook and retweeted as fast as breathless 13-year-old girls could type.
But it looks like the story is false.
On Sunday, EW.com – working on a weekend to bring you breaking Bieber news – ixnayed that report, quoting “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy, who implied Bieber wasn’t (yet?) deserving of the Madonna or Lady Gaga full-episode treatment.
“Those [tributes] are reserved for artists with big catalogs,” Murphy explained. “Bieber comes up in episode 13 as a small plot point. Sam (Chord Overstreet) sings a JB song to win Quinn’s (Dianna Agron) approval.”
The episode is titled “Comeback” and will also feature a diva-off between Rachel (Lea Michele) and Mercedes (Amber Riley) doing a song from “Rent.”
