It’s been awhile since Paula Abdul opened up about all that is Paula Abdul, but she’s doing just that with Julie Chen on “CBS Sunday Morning” this weekend.

Discussing about her love life, her loopiness, and her new show “Live to Dance,” Abdul set the record straight on a few misconceptions about her. For one, she says that contrary to popular believe, “I am intelligent…I have a brain.”

Secondly, as for those seemingly drunken moments on “American Idol” where she was sometimes inarticulate (that’s putting it nicely), she insists that’s just her goofy side. “I’ve never had a drinking problem… I’ve never been drunk in my life.”

And, as for her love life, when Chen asked her if there is someone special in her life, she blushed and giggled and declared, “Yes, there is.” But that’s about all we’re going to get on that front. “My personal life is just that, it’s personal. And I take pride in that.”

The interview airs on “CBS Sunday Morning” this Sunday, Jan. 2 at 9:00-10:30 a.m. ET.

“Live to Dance” debuts on CBS Tuesday, Jan. 4 from 8-10 p.m. ET/PT and also airs Wednesday, Jan. 5, 8-9 p.m. ET/PT.
