Sounds like more “Family” drama is in store.

Matt Dillon has signed on to guest star on the hit ABC comedy “Modern Family,” according to Entertainment Weekly.

In a rare TV appearance, Dillon will play an ex-boyfriend of Julie Bowen’s character, Claire Dunphy, who comes back into her life in an unexpected–and undesirable–way.

It seems her ex has a thing for blondes–and he’s traded up from kitten to cougar. Turns out Claire’s ex is now dating her mother these days!

That means Shelley Long will be back to reprise her role as Claire’s mom, DeDe Pritchett, in the episode (no airdate has been set).

Sometimes keeping things ‘All in the Family’ isn’t such a good thing.
