“Yesterday” is one of the most covered songs in history. But as Paul McCartney told Jimmy Fallon on Thursday’s ‘Late Night,’ “Yesterday” was initially known as “Scrambled Eggs.”  (Apparently it was a device the former Beatle used to remember the tune.)

Fallon convinced McCartney to sing a duet of the original version, which until, er, yesterday, had never been performed in public. Although it’s highly doubtful McCartney penned the full lyrics:  “Scrambled eggs / Oh my baby, how I love your legs / Not as much as I love scrambled eggs / Oh we should eat some scrambled eggs,” the video is a must-watch (especially with Fallon nailing the high harmonies!):

If that’s not enough Macca for you, he’s also this weekend’s musical guest on SNL (with host Paul Rudd).
