Dallas” star Larry Hagman has signed on for a guest-starring role on ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Hagman is returning to his prime-time soap roots to play a love interest for Lynette’s tenacious mother, Stella Wingfield, who’s played by recurring guest Polly Bergen. The episode will air early next year.

“I just decided and am going to shoot next week,” Hagman revealed to THR. He also admitted he has never seen the show. But Hagman plans to get with the program by catching up on previous episodes by watching them on his iPad. “I never watch television, so I better get started so I can see what the show’s all about.”
