FX has canceled ‘Terriers,’ the network announced Monday.

The show was generally well-received by critics but was nearly invisible to viewers: ‘Terriers’ averaged just 970,000 viewers a week and a meager 0.49 rating in the 18-49 demo, making it FX’s lowest-rated original series ever.

That means the news is not unexpected, but still bites for fans of the Shawn Ryan (‘The Shield’) series starring Donal Logue and Michael Raymond-James, which ended its first–and now officially last–season last week.

FX President and General Manager John Landgraf is holding a conference call with reporters Monday afternoon to discuss the network’s decision.
