Try as he might, Chad Ochocinco didn’t score with Cheryl Burke on ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ or find “the one” on his VH1 dating show, ‘Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch,’ but the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver has found love nonetheless.
He confirmed Tuesday to Ryan Seacrest on his morning show on KIIS-FM that he is indeed off the market.
The NFL star popped the question to model Evelyn Lozada, who was formerly engaged to basketball player Antoine Walker and appeared on ‘Basketball Wives.’ She said yes.
“Yeah, man,” he told Seacrest. “Why not? It’s time for me to sit down. I’ve got to sit down. Enough is enough. I’m 32, you know, my days are over.”
On why she’s “the one,” he said, “I think I found everything I’ve been looking for in one person … She’s everything I’ve been missing.” When Seacrest asked if she’s the perfect girl, he added, “Ain’t no such thing as perfect, but it’s close enough.”
But will she take the Ochocinco name? “No. Ochocinco is nothing but a name. It’s a brand. At some point I’m going to go back,” he said, referring to the fact that his given surname is Johnson and he legally changed his name to ‘Ochocinco’ — the meaning of numbers eight and five in Spanish.
With two reality shows under Ocho’s belt, Seacrest wondered if his wedding and marriage might play out on the small screen. “No, no, no, Sir. No, sir. Not at all,” he insisted.
A reality show might not be on deck, but breeding is. Making a reference to a new video game he’s promoting, ‘Mad Chad,’ that features a pregnant pigeon named Maria, the NFL star joked that maybe he’ll have a couple of “pigeons, a couple of babies. You never know what’ll happen.”
Famous last words, eh? Think we’ll see Chad on reality TV again?
