What will most undoubtedly be one of the most vicious domestic disputes in Hollywood to date, a somber Oksana Grigorieva appeared on ‘Larry King Live!‘ last night for the first time to publicly tell her side of the story about her famous ex boyfriend Mel Gibson and her fight to keep full custody of their one-year old daughter, Lucia.

“This is about standing up for domestic violence,” Grigorieva stated, accompanied by her lawyer. “This person had complete control over me.”

Mel Gibson Focus Of Domestic Violence Inquiry

In early January, the Russian pianist claimed Gibson had struck her twice in the presence of her 12-year-old son Sasha (whose father is actor Timothy Dalton) while she was holding their daughter in her arms. “He hit me and choked me in front of my son and brandished a gun,” she revealed to King. Gregorieva claimed she initially took Gibson back after the first violent incident because he seemed extremely penitent. However, once she experienced an alleged second assault in February, she said she decided to leave him for good.

As for her motivation behind recording the notorious rants that were purportedly by Gibson and released by Radar Online, the chanteuse said she feared for her life: “I wanted my mother to be able to prove that if I’m dead that this is who did it.” Although Gregorieva’s lawyers and the courts were the only other entities who had possession of the full recordings besides herself, she denied ever leaking them to the press and claimed she still doesn’t know who did.

On his end, Gibson is looking for full custody of their daughter and is charging Gregorieva with extortion. To the last allegation, she told King it was false and that she had refused a $15 million settlement he had urged her to take prior to the charges.

“Why didn’t you take the money?” asked the host. The 38-year-old claimed Gibson would’ve had too much custody of their daughter and was refusing treatment for his abusive ways. “Domestic violence is an illness,” she declared.

When asked if she still had feelings for the beleaguered actor, Gregorieva hesitated before answering. “As a human being, as a mother of his child, I would forgive him,” she confided. “But he really needs to come and acknowledge what he has done.”

According to King, Gibson and his reps have refused to comment on the interview.
