Fusing one part ‘Survivor‘ and one part ‘Bachelor,’ NBC has ordered a new 8-episode series which drops singles into the wilderness in the hopes of finding love.

In ‘Love in the Wild,’ twenty men and women will be paired every week. Each duo will be tossed Bear Grylls style into a remote jungle location with nothing but a map, their wits, and each other, and forced to compete in physical or emotional challenges, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

The winning couple will be treated to a “romantic indulgence” at a “romantic oasis.” At day’s end, each will have a choice whether to continue with their partner or switch up for a subsequent challenge. Each episode will feature an elimination, and the winning couple will receive a big prize at the end of the show.

‘Love in the Wild’ is produced by reality veteran Tom Shelly (‘Dating in the Dark‘). The series is slated to premiere in Summer 2011.
