In a statement Thursday AMC politely announced they “will not be renewing” thriller ‘Rubicon‘ for a second season. Yes, this is the nice way of breaking up with a series that quickly lost buzz and struggled in ratings. But hey, they had have at least one disappointment among their many successes, right?
“‘Rubicon’ gave us an opportunity to tell a rich and compelling story, and we’re proud of the series,” the statement reads. ”This was not an easy decision, but we are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a phenomenally talented and dedicated team.”
The James Badge Dale-starring political drama marks AMC’s first original series cancellation. Recent hit ‘The Walking Dead‘ was just picked up for a second season, while ‘Mad Men‘ and ‘Breaking Bad‘ return in 2011.
