It’s raining guest stars on ‘Glee‘ during this November sweeps ratings period, and among the next to appear on the Fox series is Gwyneth Paltrow.

In the November 16 episode, the film actress-turned-country singer appears as Holly, a substitute teacher who from the look of at least one romance-drenched scene shot shown here, makes a bit of beautiful music with Matthew Morrison‘s Will Schuester.

With the arrival of this sunny, blonde newcomer – whose performances include a mash-up of ‘Umbrella’ and ‘Singing In The Rain’ and a cleaned-up cover of Cee Lo Green’s “F— You” – could the forecast call for a 50 percent chance of jealousy on Emma’s part?

“It might, it might…,” ventures Jayma Mays, who plays Emma.

Then again, Jayma notes, the interjection of a third party (or fourth in this instance, seeing as Emma is now dating John Stamos’ Dr. Carl), “sometimes pushes two people to realize that they like each other more, or it makes you realize there are other people out there.”

Whatever the case, Paltrow’s presence won’t be a lasting one. Though she was originally penciled in for two episodes, as we reported last week her guest-star turn was ultimately culled down to the one date, airing Nov. 16.

One thing is clear, judging by the photo of Paltrow with Morrison, toting the yellow umbrella: She is obviously the mother from ‘How I Met Your Mother’! (How has no one noticed this? Scoop! Mystery solved, and on a Fox show no less.)
