Attention job seekers. There’s an opening in Hoboken, New Jersey. But you must know how to bake exceptionally well if you want the gig working at Carlo’s Bakery, home of ‘Cake Boss‘ star Buddy Valastro, who is searching for the next great baker.

In fact, ‘Cake Boss: The Next Great Baker’ is the title of TLC’s all-new eight-week competition series, which premieres December 6.

“In the series, Buddy, along with various family members, put 10 talented pastry chefs through the ringer to earn the title of ‘Next Great Baker,’” reads the network’s press release. “At stake – $50,000 cash and a chance to work side-by-side with Buddy at Carlo’s Bakery.”

Of course, Valastro will put the contestants to a new test each week, and someone will get eliminated. But Valastro and his family are good people, fun to watch, and likely to make this an enjoyable escapade through solid working and family values. “This show is as much about learning how to run a successful business as it is about learning the tricks and techniques to be a great cake artists,” says Valastro.
