HBO has renewed comedies ‘Eastbound & Down‘ and ‘Bored to Death‘ for a third season.

Co-created by and starring Danny McBride as washed-up former pro-baseball pitcher Kenny Powers, ‘Eastbound’s sophomore season concludes on November 7. The Jason Schwartzman-starring ‘Bored’ finishes up the following weekend.

With a second season for ‘Boardwalk Empire‘ already confirmed, HBO’s current Sunday night lineup will remain intact.

In an interview with the A.V. Club in September, McBride speculated that if picked up, ‘Eastbound’s third season may prove its last. “The story that we’d like to tell would wrap up at the third season,” he said, adding he’s surprised how the show, which has averaged 1.7 million viewers this season,  has picked up steam. “I think people weren’t sure—especially with the main character, who’s an a–hole—if people were going to actually want to sit down and watch this guy each week.”

Are you excited about this news? Bummed this could be the last we see of Kenny P?
