The Eye likes what it sees, and as such has ordered full seasons of all five of its freshman shows for the fall: ‘Blue Bloods,’ ‘The Defenders,’ ‘Hawaii Five-0,’ ‘Mike & Molly‘ and ‘$#*! My Dad Says.’
“Everything has clicked so far this year,” CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler said in announcing the five-pack of pick-ups. “It’s all testimony to the executives in our halls who remain restless for more success, and the amazing creative talent on our sets who continue to deliver the goods.”
‘Hawaii Five-0‘ was among the biggest no-brainers, having regularly won its Mondays-at-10 time slot in key demos and several times drawn the most viewers. ‘H50′ averages 14.15 million total viewers, and as TV’s most DVR’d program, adds another 3.4 mil to that haul.
Similarly, Tom Selleck’s ‘Blue Bloods‘ not only dominates its Fridays-at-10 time period but is that night’s most watched program, averaging 12.65 million viewers each week.
Buoyed by boffo lead-ins (‘Two And A Half Men’ and ‘Big Bang Theory), ‘Mike & Molly‘ and ‘$#*! My Dad Says‘ are the fall’s top two new comedies in viewers and key demos, averaging 12.3 and 11.3 million viewers, respectively.
‘The Defenders‘ has held its own against the name-brandier ‘Law & Order: LA’ on Wednesday nights, and is the season’s No. 3 new drama (averaging 11.33 million viewers).
