Jason Lee can check off another item on his Karma list.
The former ‘My Name Is Earl’ star is reuniting with his old boss Greg Garcia for an upcoming episode of Garcia’s new show ‘Raising Hope,’ Fox announced Monday.
Jason Lee will guest star as a washed up rock-star named Smokey Daniels, who’s hired to perform at ‘Grocery-Palooza,’ a concert at the supermarket where Jimmy’s (Lucas Neff) crush Sabrina works.
Turns out Jimmy’s old man Burt (Garret Dillahunt) once had rock-star aspirations and gets a chance to live the fantasy when he plays back-up with Smokey’s band. Let’s hope scene-stealer Martha Plimpton, who’s tough-talking mama has sung some sweet lullabies to baby Hope, belts out a few songs from Aisle 7 too.
Lee, who now stars on TNT’s ‘Memphis Beat,’ and Garcia worked together for four years on NBC’s blue-collar comedy ‘My Name Is Earl.’
‘Raising Hope’ is one of the few notable new shows this fall and the first to be renewed. It airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m./EST on Fox.
