Coming to you live, from New York, NBC’s ‘30 Rock‘ enjoyed a 36 percent gain in total audience and a 43 percent surge in the key 18-to-49 demo this Thursday night. Similarly, lead-in ‘Community‘s ‘Apollo 13′ riff blasted off with gains of 12 percent and 29 percent. Not bad, considering how all of the Thursday comedies took a dip last week. Is some credit also due to the idle ‘Vampire Diaries’?

Speaking of week-ago numbers, ‘CSI‘ bounced back from its all-time low demos to the tune of a 17 percent increase. The CBS warhorse’s overall viewership also was up (16 percent, to 14.3 million viewers), easily besting ABC’s ‘Grey’s Anatomy’s audience. Ha, look at Ann-Margret do what the Bieber couldn’t!
