Bryan Cranston Sings, Dances and Strips for ‘SNL’

The new kids got to show off more of their stuff on ‘Saturday Night Live’ last night with host Bryan Cranston of ‘Breaking Bad,’ but unfortunately the show couldn’t quite match the standard set by the season premiere. Kanye West made an impression by turning his two songs into music videos with an all-white backdrop and a horde of angelic dancers writhing around, but the comedy overall was hit and miss, and didn’t do enough justice to Cranston’s talent.

Newcomer Vanessa Bayer got one of the best skits of the night, showcasing her Miley Cyrus impression, while Cranston played her father Billy Ray and her fellow new cast member Paul Brittain pulled out a Johnny Depp that will likely see more play as the season progresses.

Last week had loads of star power, but this week managed a few surprise appearances as well – namely Morgan Freeman and Ernest Borgnine of the movie Red, who stopped by to gaze in bewilderment at another installment of “What Up With That?” with Kenan Thompson. It’s the kind of sketch that you sigh about at first, but it wins you over with the sheer amount of goofy stuff going on. Plus, it features Cranston in his tighty-whiteys.
