Breaking up is hard to do—especially when you get engaged on national TV, stand by your man amid tabloid rumors of cheating, pack up your life and move into his Chicago apartment, and tell the world you’re possibly planning a televised wedding.
But ‘Bachelorette‘ Jillian Harris had to do just that … because, hey, she needs a man with his head on straight.
“It was the last thing I wanted to do,” the 29-year-old reality star admits to Us Weekly about her split with Ed Swiderski, 31. “It’s terrible to leave because the other person doesn’t know what they want.”
Although Harris says she “fought very hard” to make the relationship work, the Canuck realized the couple were in different places in life and moved back to her old pad in Vancouver.
So while Jilly was having a “really sad summer,” what was noncommittal Eddie spotted doing? Flirting with the ladies in Chicago—yes, sir, recovery time is quick!
“He’s not a bad guy,” Harris says about her ex. “He’s just not quite ready to grow up.”
While this might be the last we’ll ever hear about Swiderski (and his infamous green Daisy Dukes swimming trunks—remember them?), Miss Harris isn’t leaving your tube any time soon, since she snagged a permanent gig on ABC’s ‘Extreme Makeover Home Edition.’
As for her love life? She’s back in the saddle again and recently went on a date with a local pro-athlete.
Who knew there was life to be lived after reality TV romance?
