NBC just released the promos for Bryan Cranston’s upcoming ‘Saturday Night Live‘ appearance, with Cranston and Bill Hader poking fun at the former’s  Emmy-winning drama ‘Breaking Bad.’ The teasers are missing someone, though. Namely, controversial Twitter figure, and musical guest, Kanye West.

Bryan Cranston Set To Host SNL

The clips below would be significantly funnier if it were Kanye in Hader’s place – joking with Cranston about buying meth, and his love of ‘Malcolm in the Middle.’ It also would have done wonders for his tarnished image.

Isn’t it time Kanye presented a more relaxed, self-deprecating, non-animated persona on television? Especially in light of the lyrics to his song Good A– Job, which have made many wonder why he agreed to do SNL again at all. On the track he raps: “F-ck SNL and the whole cast/Tell ‘em Yeezy said they can kiss my whole a–.”

The last time Kanye appeared on SNL was in 2008,  pre-VMA meltdown. The sketch show subsequently lampooned him in both monologues (Taylor Swift, Taylor Lautner) and on ‘Weekend Update.’ On September 17, 2009, Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers joked: “Really Kanye West, you interrupted someone again? It was interesting when you were speaking out on President Bush and Hurricane Katrina. Less so when standing up for Beyoncé in the ‘Single Ladies’ video.”

Let’s hope Kanye deviates from the musical script this weekend and joins a sketch with Cranston.
