Royal Pains‘ is keeping busy during its Season 2 hiatus by loading up on sweet guest stars for when the USA Network series returns.

Not long ago, I told you about Amy Sedaris (‘Strangers With Candy’) and Tom Cavanagh (‘Ed’) both guesting in one winter season episode. Now I’ve gotten word that another double-bill is on tap, featuring Jaime Ray Newman (‘Eureka,’ ‘Eastwick’) and Jim Gaffigan (‘My Boys’).

Scoop! ‘Royal Pains’ Tees Up Amy Sedaris, Tom Cavanagh

In the winter episode titled “Astraphobia,” Newman plays Stacy Sacks, a stormchaser who hits town in advance of a major weather event nearing the Hamptons. While searching for the best vantage point to collect her data, Stacy meets a by-the-book park ranger named Pete Stambleck, played by Gaffigan.

And how do these two in turns cross paths with HankMed? Well, park ranger Pete later turns up suffering from a complete personality change, due to reasons unknown. Hank gets on that one. Divya in turn tends to Stacy, who, it turns out, is rather accident-prone.
