Good news for fans of ‘Army Wives‘ and ‘Drop Dead Diva.’ Lifetime renewed both series for another season. “‘Army Wives’ and ‘Drop Dead Diva’ have led Lifetime’s charge in scripted programming and are key components to our success,” said Nancy Dubuc, president and GM of Lifetime and History. “We are so happy with these two special programs and are excited to pick them up for new seasons, which allows us to launch our next generation of scripted series.” According to the network, ‘Army Wives’ – which stars Kim Delaney, who touched a nerve among viewers early on when her character declared, “The spouses, the sons, the daughters, the families, we serve too and I am proud to call myself an Army Wife” – is the most successful scripted series in Lifetime 26-year history. Last season, the show’s fourth, it averaged 3.2 million viewers.
