Here’s what’s showing up at a theater near you this weekend. Ben Affleck continues to make his case as a director with the crime drama The Town, while M. Night Shyamalan struggles to hold onto his scare-maker status with Devil. Then Emma Stone takes the lead in the high school virginity comedy Easy A, while some animated wolves make the scene in Alpha and Omega. The Town

Director/co-writer Ben Affleck stars as a morally-conflicted bank robber from Charlestown, Massachussetts who finds himself fascinated with his former hostage (Rebecca Hall), whom he’s following to make sure she won’t rat them out to an FBI agent (Jon Hamm). He wants to get out of the life, but neither his volatile and violent partner (Jeremy Renner), his sleazy ex-girlfriend (Blake Lively) nor his boss (Pete Postlethwaite) are willing to let that happen.

Emma Stone stars as a high school girl who allows her gay friend to use her as a beard, and soon her fake tales of ribaldry become a business to help other social outcasts as well.


Devil

Alpha and Omega
