Paula Patton – just weeks after being named the new ADA on NBC’s ‘Law & Order: SVU’ – has landed the female lead in ‘Mission: Impossible 4.’ The ‘Precious’ costar beat out the likes of Kristin Kreuk (‘Smallville’) and Lauren German (‘Happy Town’) to score the blockbuster gig.

As a result, Baer has allowed Patton to excuse herself from ‘SVU.’ Her character, ADA Mikka Von (an anagram for Kim Novak, FYI), will go out “in a big way” after one appearance, says TV Guide Magazine.
