CBS is on Katee Sackhoff’s case…the ‘Battlestar Galactica‘ actress is guest starring on not one but two shows for the network this fall.
First up is a long overdue appearance on ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,’ where Sackhoff is set for a November sweeps episode in what could become a recurring role.
According to EW, Sackhoff will play Detective Reed, “a smart, tough, and feisty investigator with an acknowledged lack of sensitivity.”
Why is it overdue? Sackhoff was originally the leading contender to replace the departing Jorja Fox in 2008, but she lost the role after network brass didn’t approve. (Actress Lauren Lee Smith, who ultimately landed the part, has since come and gone.) Sackhoff instead kicked butt in the ill-fated ‘Bionic Woman’ remake and went gunning for Jack Bauer on the final season of ‘24.’
The ‘CSI’ casting news comes hot on the heels of word that Sackhoff will flip sci-fi geeks’ frakking minds when she returns to CBS’s ‘The Big Bang Theory‘ in a stun-ter-iffic October episode that also features ‘Star Trek’ icon George Takei.
